The Olympic College women's basketball team wrapped up the Mt. Hood Crossover, hosted by Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon, with a strong showing, finishing with two wins and one loss. The Rangers opened the weekend with a convincing 48-35 victory over Mt. Hood on December 12. Olympic jumped out to an early lead and maintained control throughout, holding Mt. Hood to just 22 percent shooting. Whitley Goble led the scoring with 12 points, while Cesaria Pelagio added 10. Ollie Decker and Carmayla Jackson combined for 15 rebounds, and the team dominated the paint with 26 points while converting 23 points off turnovers.
In their second game on December 13, Olympic fell to Yakima Valley 70-62 in a hard-fought contest. The Rangers started strong with a 21-point first quarter but couldn't overcome Yakima Valley's second-half surge. Carmayla Jackson had an outstanding performance with 17 points and 12 rebounds, including a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Cesaria Pelagio contributed 12 points, and Ollie Decker added nine points and seven rebounds. Olympic controlled the boards with 48 rebounds and scored 30 points in the paint, but Yakima Valley's sharp three-point shooting proved decisive.
The Rangers closed the tournament on December 14 with a dominant 78-38 win over Pierce. Olympic posted a season-high 78 points and showcased its depth and defensive intensity. Ollie Decker was perfect from the field, going 11-for-11 for 22 points, while Trian Clark added 12 points and Carmayla Jackson recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. The team overwhelmed Pierce inside with 50 points in the paint, forced 26 turnovers that led to 27 points, and received 30 points from the bench.
Overall, Olympic averaged 63 points per game during the tournament and demonstrated strong rebounding and balanced scoring. With standout performances from Decker, Jackson, and Goble, the Rangers look poised for success as they head into conference play.
