Rangers Fall in Overtime Despite Big Nights from Moore and Campbell
The Olympic College men's basketball team came up just short Wednesday night, dropping a hard-fought overtime loss to Edmonds College in NWAC action at the Ranger Gymnasium. Olympic battled through a tightly contested regulation and forced extra time, but Edmonds made the key plays late to secure the win.
The Rangers were led by an outstanding performance from D'Angelo Moore, who delivered one of his best games of the season with 28 points, three rebounds, and five assists. Moore consistently attacked off the dribble and created scoring opportunities throughout the night, keeping Olympic within striking distance and playing a central role in forcing overtime.
Nathaniel Campbell also turned in a strong all-around effort, finishing with 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Campbell's activity on both ends of the floor set the tone for Olympic's competitiveness and helped spark key runs during regulation. Eric Woods added a near triple-double with 19 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, providing steady perimeter scoring and facilitating the offense. Inside, Reece Rheinschmidt battled in the paint and contributed 19 points and six rebounds, giving Olympic a consistent interior presence.
The Rangers also received valuable minutes off the bench from Marcus Harris, who logged 24 minutes and made an impact defensively with two steals, helping maintain intensity during extended stretches of play.
Neither team was able to create sustained separation in regulation, and Olympic executed well late to extend the contest into overtime. In the extra period, Edmonds capitalized on a handful of key possessions, while the Rangers were unable to convert on several quality looks.
Despite the result, Olympic's balanced scoring, effort, and resilience were evident throughout the night, continuing a stretch of competitive performances as the Rangers push forward through conference play.
The Rangers have earned the weekend off and return action against a surging Skagit Valley in the Ranger Gymnasium next Wednesday at 5 pm. Come out and support your Rangers!
