Rangers Fall to Everett in Hard-Fought Home Contest
The Olympic College men's basketball team dropped an 89–80 home decision to Everett Community College on Saturday afternoon in NWAC action at the Bremer Student Center. The loss moves the Rangers to 3–18 overall and 1–4 in conference play, while Everett improved to 9–11 overall and 2–3 in league action.
Everett established an early rhythm offensively and carried a 46–34 lead into halftime, but Olympic responded with a much stronger second half. The Rangers raised their defensive intensity, moved the ball more effectively on offense, and briefly took the lead midway through the second period, energizing the home crowd and forcing Everett to regroup.
Olympic was led by Eric Woods, who turned in a strong offensive performance with 24 points, knocking down four three-pointers and attacking the rim throughout the afternoon. Nathaniel Campbell continued his steady play with 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Reece Rheinschmidt added 10 points and battled inside against Everett's physical frontcourt.
The Rangers shot more efficiently after the break and closed the gap through consistent effort on both ends, but Everett answered with timely baskets late and controlled the paint to maintain its advantage in the final minutes. Olympic continued to compete until the final horn, showing resilience and improved execution coming out of halftime.
Olympic returns home Wednesday, January 21, to host Bellevue College, with tipoff set for 5 p.m. at the Bremer Student Center.
